The oil drilling industry uses long continuous pipe to reach the depths of oil cavities. Short pipes are welded together to achieve the proper length required. For good strength, the welds are large and protrude through the inside pipe wall. The inside diameter seams of the joined pipes must then be ground smooth to accommodate proper drilling function.

PIPE GRINDING: HOW TO GRIND THE INSIDE OF A PIPE

Small inside diameter pipe welds are difficult and even impossible to grind by hand. Machine Concepts designed a portable pipe grinder machine that will roll into the pipe and extend up to match the diameter. With the pipe rotating, the pipe grinder machine will grind the weld down smooth to the inner wall of the pipe.
