Rebuilds and Upgrades

Machine Concepts has extensive experience rebuilding and upgrading all types of scrap choppers. When required, we can engineer solutions to retrofit existing machines for improved performance and reliability.

Our rebuild process includes:

On-site baseline inspection to assess condition and collect operational data before teardown.
Complete pre-rebuild inspection and reporting, including endplay, breakaway torque, knife gaps, and arbor lift measurements, all documented for customer records.
Precision measurements of arbors, runouts, housing bores, and bearing alignments compared with original print specifications.
In-house inspection of precision bearings and grinding of bearing spacers to achieve proper preload or endplay for accurate knife gaps.
Reassembly with new bearings and seals to ensure correct knife height and gap setup.
Anti-backlash spacers measured and ground to maintain consistent cutting performance during operation.
Extended test runs and final inspections to verify performance and provide run-in data to the customer.
